Title: best brand lift for 73-87 trucks
Post by: heavy78 on November 08, 2013, 11:54:16 pm
i was wondering what everyones opinions are for best brand of lift kits. i know most are all the same for are trucks just some have more leafs in the pack and other simple things. i have a 6 inch rough country lift all leaf spring no blocks with my stock shackles on my truck and i absoloutley Hate it. it is the most bouncy out of control terrible ride but what can i expect for a $600 lift with no blocks and cool looking big leaf springs lol. i eventually want to do a shackle flip rear with a 4 inch leaf spring and a 8 inch leaf spring in the front. just wondering what leafs would be best ride and not so bouncy. i dont care much about flex and towing weight and all that as much as a decent ride.

everyone please reply with your opinions and reasons, it will be very hopefull for the future thank you

I had Skyjacker 8" softride fronts with rearched GM springs in the rear.

Loved how my truck drove, and rode. On 44" Gumbo Mudders I could drive it 80mph without any scary feelings or surprises.

I have a Tuff Country EZ-Ride and I love it.  Ride, handling, everything is excellent.  I am only up 2" in front and 3" in the rear, but I am really happy with this product.

I think "Best" is a matter of $$$$. I can only speak for what I have and then what I'd like to have. Currently rough country 4" springs all the way around, no blocks. The kit came with everything I needed and was able to install if by myself in the driveway. Down side..well it rides like a truck.

Now for what I want and will eventually do..full custom with  4-link with heim joints, adjustable coilovers and panhard bar. But again$$$$... ;D
