Ok folks, am I missing something about the BBC top alternator bracket?
This is driving me crazy!
I have a 454, stock heads, aluminum intake (not sure what brand - no name on it), long water pump.
I have purchased 2 different top brackets to mount my alternator, and niether one will work. The first one was just a long arm type bracket and the other one was one that looks like an original type bracket.
Do these aftermarket brackets even work, or am I going to have to spend a little more $$ and purchase a bracket set that has an adjusting rod for the top bracket?
Thanks for any help!!

Can you post some links so the brackets you bought?
