Title: New or rebuild
Post by: Tazman on November 16, 2013, 10:50:50 am
I have talked to several people who tell me buying a new/rebuilt steering box from a auto parts store is just a tempory fix,it will be leaking again in a year. Also been told that rebuilding is best but that can be tricky also, could lead to leaks if not done properly.New ones are no longer made for these trucks, what have you done in this situation?

My $.02   My suggestion is get one from a quality autoparts store like NAPA.  Autozone is OK for the everyday stuff like belts/hoses/easy to change stuff but when it comes to steering components/brake/clutch/starter I rely on NAPA...

I have gotten them from just about anywhere.  when you NEED one you probably don't have time to rebuild one.
