Title: 350 Special Oil Needed?
Post by: Thundergun on November 26, 2013, 05:31:09 pm
Hey Guys. So the oil cap on my '87 350 (well, that's what the sticker on the door says) in my 85 k10 says 'Special Oil Required - See owners Manual'.

I have never heard of any 'special oil'. I got the truck for free. The previous owner didn't know much about it. There is a sticker inside the door that says this truck was made CA compliant in 2006, and states the engine is an '87 350.

I'm guessing that's just a generic oil cap? Any thoughts on this?

My truck is an 87 r10 w/350, the oil cap & manual says 10w30.
I've always ran 5w30 with no problems. Not sure what " special oil" means!!!
