Title: Noob from Melbourne, Australia
Post by: Matt McLeod on November 29, 2013, 07:39:36 am
Hi everyone,
Just picked up a clean and tidy '74 model as a daily driver.  The previous owner "liberated" it from you guys on the other side of the Pacific and shipped it Down Under.  Pic hopefully attached to this post.

Got lots to learn about this truck but its been fun already in the few weeks I have had her.

I need to start ordering parts, just basic maintenance items like radiator hoses and door/window seals.  With my first order I will see if I can buy both parts and workshop manuals, but I have a question, if I may: can some of the members point me in the direction of their favoured online supplier of 73-87 parts? I'm not super price sensitive, 5 bucks here or there will not kill me, but I need to get the right part or I'm going to waste a lot of money on shipping to Australia.  For example, I've found "Brothers Trucks", "Classic Industries", "Summit Racing", "JC Whitney" (and that was just the first page of Google).

I know everyone has their favourites for a whole lot of reasons, but I am sure there are good, helpful suppliers you might be able to suggest that I haven't located yet.

Gratefully accepting any suggestions from the experienced members on the board....!

Cheers,
Matt McLeod

Welcome from the West Coast, USA.

73-87ChevyTrucks.com (http://store.73-87chevytrucks.com/merchant2/) is the store that supports this Forum and is an excellent source for high quality truck parts.  If you don't find what you're after in the "store" link, email the Site owner, Captkaos, at Webmaster@73-87ChevyTrucks.com.

Classic Parts (http://www.classicparts.com/1973-1987-Truck-Parts/departments/8/) and Summit Racing (http://www.summitracing.com/) are good supplemental sources for parts and specialty high performance items.
