Title: 1986 c10 rebuid
Post by: pitbull2332 on December 03, 2013, 06:42:37 pm
I bought this truck in 1997 from my grandfather. Je was the original owner. Did a rebuild on it when i was 18 to get where it  is now. Truck was a lot of fun and i had a blast with it. I had it tucked away in storage fir the last 5 years and have finally had the time and money to take it to the next step. I current state she would run 12.20 to 12.30 1/4 times. Hoping to drive it on street and run no faster than 11.50s i do not want to cage it(http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/12/04/ujuda2a3.jpg)(http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/12/04/dapunape.jpg)(http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/12/04/mega4e3a.jpg)(http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/12/04/edevypar.jpg)

So i want to drop a little weight and also move some around a little bit on the truck. Also plan on installing a 377 th400 with a break and a 4500 stahl. Going to convert motor to e 85 to save a little coin on fuel. Went with a ladder rear suspension with coil overs and a currie 9 rear. Going to run a set of 32x17.50 et streets on it(http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/12/04/hy6uhegu.jpg)(http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/12/04/suzudagy.jpg)(http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/12/04/jaze7avy.jpg)(http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/12/04/ygenujur.jpg)(http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/12/04/evane4ug.jpg)

Well i have the fuel cell mounted, and fuel pump/filter mounted. Tore truck back apart and coated the frame. Hope to tear down the rear end this week and start the final assembly of the rear next weekend have all the fuel and brake lines made so in theory should go back together fairly smooth(http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/12/07/2umypy3a.jpg)(http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/12/07/a6ejuvyj.jpg)(http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/12/07/de4a2ety.jpg)(http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/12/07/6u2u4a2e.jpg)

NICE BUILD! love the coilover set up, the battery all the way in the rear on the pass. side, the fat ass tires and that diff with discs is dang mean looking. Is that a fiberglass mock up block? if so, freaking gnarly. Can't wait to see more.

Very nice! I noticed new front A arms, and it looks a little lower than the "brought it home pics". Did you do a drop spring or spindle? It looks like a stock style coil in the a arms versus adjustable coil overs like the rear. I couldn't tell what spindle was there. With another inch or two out of the front end height I am in love with that truck sir. Any pics of the finished stock wheel tub job? Well done!

In the front they are 3" djm control arms.  Uppers and lowers. I also added. 2" belltech lowering springs. They are the stock spindles. Actually the truck handles good. Way better than stock. Just have qa1 drag shocks in the stock location. It transfers well. Also got weight down to 3528# with me in it. Almost 400# off truck. (http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/05/20/9abygahy.jpg)

Well been a little since I posted. Small update on my truck. Had a lot of run with the 377. But was a little to wild for the street. Threw a lot of options around and going with a twin turbo 6.0 ls. Should be fun
