I have a stock 77 stepside that I want to drop 4/6 or 5/6. I dont have the cash to air bag. I think that I need drop spindels and coils for the front, and some kind of flip kit for the rear. Is this wahat I should use? What brands do you suggest? I have seen one from western chassis that came with new leafs in the rear. Sounds like a good idea since the truck sits a little cocked any way, just figured they would need replaced also. For right now, I will be running 15" rally wheels. I would like to go up to some 18's in the future, but it may take a while. I will not need to tow anything in this, it is strickly a cruiser. Any help, tips or advisewould be apreciated.

Run BellTech.....excellent quality......Not too sure about DJM's quality now as compared to years ago. I bought a flip kit and it was junk. Flip kit rear end cradles didn't fit all the way underneath the spring perch like Belltech's. Rear end would rock back and forth from stopping to taking off.
I also forgot to mention that DJM's flip kit will move rear end back on leaf pack because of the leaf pack pin hole. Toys are my game

I bought a djm kit back in either 2000 or 01 and evey thing was fine with it and is still working good today

All good flip kits should do this. It keeps the axle in the same location as it was before you flipped it.

My Belltech didn't do this.........hole is in the center. I will double check on this though.....

If I get the kit with new rear springs, does it still flip, or do they just curve different? Or is the new leaf springs a waste of time and $?

if you get a kit that supplies springs, it does not include a flip. The springs will have a softer ride than the factory ones.

soft ride is great....you can also add air bags later anyway if you decide to haul. I would C notch......

Depending on the amount of drop the leafs are I would consider it. If it is mild like 5", and I didn't plan to haul anything, I would ride it for a while and see since springs will keep the axle on the bottom.
