Title: 1/2 ton truck with 3/4 ton leaf springs
Post by: bfofish on October 23, 2006, 02:12:00 pm
can i  put 3/4 ton springs on a 1/2 ton truck? my buddy's 85 gmc needs new front springs (broken leafs)and he wants to lift the front to match the rear. we THINK the rears are from a 3/4 ton as they have more leafs than my 1/2 ton does.there are 8 leafs on the rear axle. or did someone do some kind of cheap lift????

are you talking about leafs from the front of a 3/4T truck?  They should swap out.  You could measure them for a comparison.

yes the front leafs are broken so they need to be replaced. would they lift it as well? the rear of the truck sits about     2"-3" higher than the front. it looks like a hot rod that was jacked up with air shocks.
