Alright so i own a 1979 K10 4wd with EGR. I just bought a 1400 edelbrock series carb, and can't seem to hook it up as easy as the box says. I have EGR and it is in the way of mounting my carb. What i want to know is if i should Block off my egr with a plate and mount the carb, or get a kit thats suppose to raise up the carb away from the egr valve. I measured this distance however and it look like it will still hit the egr valve. On top of that, there are these two vacuum hoses that helped run the climatic control/choke on my old Quadrajet, what do i do with them now? I am removing my cruise control unit because it does not work so my linkage is simple, This Egr is my issue, i know what the point of it is, but here in Michigan, emissions don't really matter. Any suggestions will help....Thanks.
will put up some pics soon.

Pics will help. I do still have block off plates and can see if they're the size you need tomorrow.
