ever thought of a moonroof install in your c10? why or why not? I have seen one truck with it and I love how it looks. I also like the idea of it. probably won't ever do it to my truck because I don't like the idea of cutting a huge hole in my roof, but wanted to see what you guys thought about it. any input?(http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/02/07/2u4a2uga.jpg)(http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/02/07/guse4anu.jpg)

from what i hear they tend to leak

Like Irish said, if you really think about it, you are putting a recessed area on your roof.
I have seen several that have done it in Cal. The problem is not when they are new, the problem arises when they get older and the owner does not think to change out the rubber gaskets that have now gotten brittle and hard, they then let water in and sit in the valleys and develop rust and leak.

what if you incorporated a newer power sun roof that had the drains built in?

Everyone that I personally know that has had a vehicle with a sunroof/moonroof/T-top, most of which were factory installed, has complained that it leaked. I don't know if they leaked between the glass and the seal, or between the hole in the roof and the window assembly. I've always thought of moonroofs the same way I think about convertibles; they're going to leak. Either accept that fact, and enjoy being able to see the sky, or stay dry and have nothing to see but headliner when you look up.
I also think they look good on the 73-87 body style. I'd never feel comfortable giving someone the okay to cut a hole in my roof, though.

if i can find a spare sun roof off one of my old mits eclipse ill try it ( i have a scrap cab at the house) also here at the dealership we "fix" tons of leaking sun roofs usually caused by owner neglect... not cleaning out the drain area, knocking them off track, and the most common one,,,, not CLEANING the seals often. its crazy what some dust can do. i didnt realize that dust could cause such a big problem until i started testing sun roofs for warranties. leaks... check drain hoses and clean seals , check again. Not leaking .
