Title: Bumper guard
Post by: dvdswan on February 19, 2014, 10:38:20 am
I've been looking around for a chrome brush guard for my truck and haven't come across any new or used.  do they still make these for our trucks or are they just getting that old?  it would look similar to this one... and welded not bolt together.

Check some scrap yards, I know I've seen at least two at my local pick-n-pull

I have not run across any that are still selling just the center brush guard for our trucks.  Newer trucks yes, but none are weld on, they are all bolt on.
If you want one to weld on, your best bet is to find a used one, weld it on and get it re plated.

The ones that were welded still bolted at the bumper holes..  I don't know of anyone making them anymore though.

I have one on my truck. Got it off a 76 sitting in a pick n pull yard. The tubes are welded to the side posts. The whole thing is bolted to the bumper. All it needs is a re-chroming. I've been considering pulling it off though. I've since changed what I want to do with my truck and it doesn't fit well with my design. Dvdswan, Where are you located?

I looked for months for one of these new and could not find one. I tried a few pay and pull yards with no luck. I ended up buying bumper guards instead.

Like these:

I'm in the Seattle, WA area.  hopefully you are west coast.

I've been looking at the local yards, CL, E-bay for one with no luck.  I figured it would need to be rechromed as well, thinking that there are no longer producing them it seems.

This one states its for the 87-91 Blazers, but to my knowledge it should fit the trucks too:
