I seem to have issues getting over 40 mph. After I hit 35-38 it gets bogged out. Still runs but sputters to speed before. Its not the tranny I hope. Cause it shifts fine all the way up. Then it also does not over rev like it would do . I had tranny go out in a Camaro.I'm lost and stuck filters/ carb which one replace all or any trouble shoot tips.

Years ago I was heading down the highway with my stock '76 3/4 ton Scottsdale which had the 454/400 combo, and it bogged down and died without warning. Turns out the floats in the (Rochester) carb failed. Swapped in new ones and was on my way.

1st thing is to change the filter for the carb as Irish said. The way dirty paper filters work is fuel will go through them, as the fuel is flowing they start plugging up and slow the fuel down. When you take the pressure off the filter, the contaminates loosen back up until you start up again with pressure, then they start the plugging process all over again until the filter is so dirty it will not allow fuel or very little fuel to go by.
If that does not solve the problem, you might have gotten enough stuff that bypassed the filter and got into the carb. that the carb may need to be cleaned.
