Title: anyone got hids?
Post by: 75_chevy on February 27, 2014, 10:49:08 pm: I just got some for 30 as the ones I bought for 60 from extremehids never showed up. they are plug and play, I think I bought the wrong bulb size but they are still bad ass.

I got the xenon kit from eBay for 30 so I am not too worried about the flicker. so far they are very bright. haven't been able to test at night I'm low on gas and got bills.
they seem not as blue as they should be for 10k but again they were only 30.

Post by: Irish_Alley on March 06, 2014, 11:14:43 pm: i had hids on my 2004 imp. on my lows, problem was they have to warm up. and if you switch to highs then you have to switch to lows they have to warm up and you cant see for a couple seconds. once one burnt up i switch to silver star and liked them so much i got my buddy to buy some for his truck

The dangerous deception of "whiter" or blue headlights, is they throw a bright contrast off of street signs, making you THINK you have more light than you really do, and the blue and violet spectrum of these headlights SEVERELY cripples the night vision of other drivers. I truely hope the US DOT eventually mandates selective yellow headlights, driving lights, and fog lights, preferrably sooner than later.

Depends on the headlights I guess, my 2002 work truck on high beams probably would not hurt oncoming traffic.

Post by: sphinx on March 18, 2014, 09:38:49 pm: I tried HIDs in my 99 Ram, they just did not work right going from hi to low beam. I would by the off-road 65watt bulbs before spending the $'s on HIDs again. Just my two cents.

OK poorly aimed LOW BEAMS cripple on coming cars. and if your high beams where poorly aimed they wouldnt hurt either
