Title: Cutting drop springs
Post by: kinada on March 08, 2014, 11:48:01 am
Does anyone have any idea how much drop cutting half a coil on a 2" drop spring would give? (I tried the search function) I'm looking for another inch of drop. I'm adding 3" drop spindles as well.

I'd would really like a 6" drop on my 81 c10 front end. Has anyone done this? Will it be driveable? :-\

I would advise against cutting a drop coil and for static drop I would advise against lower than 5/7...

IF you are going to do it, cut a 1/4 off at a time.  If it rides rough now expect it to get stiffer the more you cut.

Thanks Captkaos. What are the issues with going lower than 5/7?

Dragging parts, bottoming out on the inner fenders...

Ok. I'll just go 5/7 and then see from there. Thanks.
