After spending half of Saturday mounting the above parts from Summit, I found these DJM shackles jammed the leaf springs right up against the cross support under my truck bed
I would have to cut an access way through the under truck bed support and weld plate/box it for this kit to work
Anyone experienced this problem?? Was I missing something with the install ??
Its not a straightforward install as the product info states - no matter which way I turn their shackles
I thought maybe the spring needed to settle :-[ so I put the truck on the ground and rolled down the driveway
The bed support still sits on the spring eye and it literally rattled my teeth
The stock shackle has an arc / angled mounting ears leading to the spring leaf eye that keeps the spring positioned in front of the bed cross support
The supposed replacement DJM shackle is basically straight and cannot work
What can I do to still get my simple 2 inch drop in the rear - to give the truck a flatter look

I am assuming short wheelbase and/or HD springs.
If so this is normal.

:( really ?? WOW
yes it is a short wheelbase - not sure if it is heavy duty spring
They should have at least said something like that in their instructions
I have a pair of original longer style shackles from a 80 4x4 Blazer - that look like they are a fit - and seem to be about the same 2 inch drop
and may allow the leaf to operate without binding
If I put these on my truck - and use the DJM shackles - will this amount to 2+2 inch drop - i.e. too much drop for a rear drop only
If so, should I reuse the stock shackles instead ??

I bought the 2" drop shackles as well, had to use an angle grinder and cut away at that bed cross member or whatever you call it. Either weld or paint over that bare metal to prevent any rust corrosion and you're good!

If you have a short bed and std 3 leaf springs the longer shackles WILL hit.
