Post by: bob75 on March 20, 2014, 11:31:11 pm
getting ready to start the body on a 75 shortbed and had a thought about using 3M emblem tape instead of the stock clips for the moldings...anyone try this or any input

idk if it will hold up to the weather. we just got done working on a car trailer, it had trim held on by 3m tape. needless to say the trim didnt come off real easy had to use a razor blade and a real knife to cut it off, and the guy is going to have to buy new stuff

It works pretty good. I used it to put the "CHEVROLET" back on my tailgate trim. That was 2/12 years ago or so. Through all the washes, rain, wind, sun and even a vandalism, it's still there. No peeling or separation. I used regular 3M outdoor double sided adhesive tape. Wasn't even there automotive stuff.

Just make sure the surfaces are prepped properly and that stuff sticks pretty good.
