Title: lifted leaf springs
Post by: Als87 on March 23, 2014, 01:47:13 pm
When I bought my truck it was already lifted. My front leaf springs need replaced as they are sagging pretty bad. Any suggestions where I can find a good price on a pair of front leaf springs for a 4" lift for my 87v10?
I've looked at a few different websites & I'm not sure exactly what I need & they seem kinda pricey.
Thanks for the help

i have rough country and they are rough. dont know what type of lift you have on the rear. if its a block or all leafs, you could go with just new springs up front and what you need for the rear. you shouldn't need anything else since you have it all there already. just u bolts and most times they come with lifts

As Irish pointed out, different lift company's use different spring rates in their springs.  My suggestion would be to try to find out what brand of lift you have.  A lot of times the shocks are bought with the lift, so if they are a particular brand most likely that is the lift springs you have.
Also as Irish pointed out, what do you have for the rear suspension, block or all spring lift ?  Most likely those springs are as just worn out as the fronts.  Though with a block in the back you would not noticed as much since those would be stock springs and have not been arched.
If price is a major factor in you decision, then still try to find the manufacture of the lift (you will be happy you did) and start looking on e-bay, craigslist and/or wrecking yards for a set of used one's.  Though with used you might get worse than what you already have.

The rear has blocks but the springs are arched quite a bit, 4" lift.
I replaced the shocks all the way around a couple months ago & the ones I took off were auto zone brand so I dnt kno what kind of lift it is.
The front leaf springs are sagging & it rides like a covered wagon so they need replaced & yea im trying to find a good spring that's not the most expensinve. I've heard rough country is just that. Lookin at skyjacker or pro comp, just trying to find the best price on them.

I prefer skyjacker and por comp for lifts, they ride better than most others in my opinion.
