Hey guys! New here. I've got an 86 305 4x4 4spd. I just picked it up and it doesn't have gas tanks. What would you guys suggest? I like the look of those custom ones that sit between the frame rails in the rear. Worth it? I'm a fabricator so cost would be low. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks

Are there no gas tank parts at all? No filler necks or anything?

I never understood the people who "for safety" replace the saddle tanks with tanks between the rear frame rails, especially on a K truck. You are much more likely to get rear-ended than T-boned, and modern wedge-nosed cars are gonna go right under the back and rip the tank open. A third of all auto accidents are rear-end accidents.
Just put on a saddle tank or two and go from there. They're only a 100 bucks. Not worth the time to fab up something.

It personal preference u have 4x4 so the stock replacements wouldnt be
bad if ur fuel pump goes out u can drop tank easily compared to a lower truck

Cool thanks guys. I think I'll just go with stock tank(s). What's the biggest available? I don't have anything from fuel lines under cab back. So I'll need filler necks, fuel sending units.. Anything else I would need?

Biggest you can get on a Short bed is 16 gallons, biggest you can get for a Long bed is 20 gallons. Fillers will need to be sourced from a donor.

Upon further research I think I'm gonna go with a blazer/jimmy 31 gallon tank.

That is what is under my R10.
This is what I wrote a long time ago... http://www.captkaoscustoms.com/blazertank.html
