Title: Stepside bed question

Is the box portion of a say....78 bed the same as 85 stepside?And will newer fenders from 85 fit thanks

     The box section is the same from 73 - 87 (front, sides, crossills steps, except long vrs short of course).
     Not sure what year they stopped using wood in the step sides and went to metal.  The gas openings on 73 -78 are the same with a round hole, 79 - 87 are hinged square doors.

I have a 85 Duel tank Bed on my 78. works fine. the duel tank bed has the round opening on the pass side already. (at least Id on't remember dad cuting it out or anything.)

     Someone put a 73-78 fender on the 85 step side then.  Does your drivers side still have the square, hinged door ?
