does anybody know what size and thread the upper (shoulder) bolt is? I have a 73 dually but I would assume the same bolt is used in all 73-87

Here is a install (http://www.julianos.com/how2_3point74chevy.html) of 3 point seat belts in a non 3 point seat belt truck.  It says "For Technical Assistance or Questions Call 860-872-1932."
You could call them and ask if they know the size you are looking for.

My '86 has a 1/2" 13 thread per inch special bolt that uses a 13/16" wrench. It is 1 1/4 inch long and approx. 11/16 of that length is a slightly larger shoulder. Hope this helps.

Same here. It looks like threadlocker (blue) is used on the threads.

thanks! I will give that size a try and hope it works in mine!
