Title: Adding factory tach?
Post by: WillSquared on April 06, 2014, 06:53:44 pm
Another change I'd like to make is to add a factory tach.  I have found everything I think I'd need but the smaller fuel gauge.  Will the 75-80 one work on my 86?  Best I can tell I'd need the printed circuit for a tach, tach itself, tach wiring harness, lens and small fuel gauge.  Does that sound correct?  Anything I'm missing or overlooking?

For reference purposes mine is an 86 without a tach with the clock.

I have an 86 box, tanks, senders, and they work fine on my 1978 original dash with fuel gauges in both the large and small positions.  (Two tanks, two gauges.  Why not?)

Thanks for the links.  Good info there.  Looks like it's doable.

Is there any reason the 79-81 small fuel gauge wouldn't work in my 86 cluster?

If you have the printed circuit no reason at all.
