H, I am replacing the whole parking brake cable system on my 78 K20, it has the big drums in the rear. My brother ripped out the cables some years ago.
Gonna order a front cable, an intermediate cable, and two rear cables. Does that sound right?
Wasn't sure if I need two intermediate cables.
Thanks

Do you still have the clips that goes into the intermediate and rear brackets that hold the cable ? On my 77 when I stripped it down to do the frame it was like that, there were these little spring type clips that held pressure on the cable in the bracket. I am getting ready in the next week or two to finally start re-assembling mine.

Do you know if I will need 2 intermediate cables?

OK, it took me a little to get this to work, I like pics so I can see what I am suppose to be looking at.

So this gives you a break down on the whole system with years and quantities. Let us know if any further assistance is required.

I'm getting ready to do this as well, where are you sourcing your parts? ?

The place I pasted the pics from can not be mentioned here (see the rules you agreed to when signing up), but there are several aftermarket companies that sell parts for our trucks. The store on this site, button above, to the right of the forum button, also sells parts. This is how this site is supported, you can e-mail the store with what you are looking for CaptKoas will get back to you weather he has the parts or can get them and how much.

Good thread, I'll be doing this to mine one of these days. My cable is so stretched or out of adjustment that the E-brake pedal only re-coils about half way up when I pull the release handle.
Also, I failed to notice this site sold parts, I've been using the above pictured source for parts. Now that I know I'd be happy to buy parts here and support the site as you guys have helped me work through many a pickle. And I'm sure many more in the future.
