Yep, remember when he bought it for Car Junkies TV a long while back..
-
I havent watched too many episodes of car junkies I always knew friberger as a hotrod staff member for hotrod magazine I actulay just came across car junkies recently hmm ill have to look that up
-
I saw a ep with that in it!
-
Those guys are awsome. I have a hotrod issue were they built that truck. Its bad ass. Puts down some pretty good et's too.
-
I'm subscribed to them on YouTube that truck is awesome I also like watching dirt everyday I love his cucv lol
-
Last Friday the new episode of roadkill came out the muscle truck was the feature no spoilers watch it for yourselves!

They cut it up and take off the back fenders, put mud tires on it and make a sand dune truck. Mad Max style!
on a side note, that is one of the best sounding LS transplant truck I've ever heard.
-
I was sick when they cut the front fenders I need those mine are not in the greatest shape. That Ls sounds sick.
-
i do watch the show occasionally. i just wish they would get into more detail. For instance, in the latest episode, they mentioned put fuel injection on the engine. It would have been nice to see how. Also, there is more to mounting those big tires than just putting the tire around the rim......
-
Stewart that is one sick Ls in that truck they have unlimited funds unlike us there is another muscle truck episode
-
I think the best part of the show for me personally is all the issues they run into and how they go about fixing it wherever they might be at.
-
Yeah, I like that it isn't packaged as "neatly" as what's on TV. Less fluff, more wrenchin'.
-
New episode with the muscle truck:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nKxouNKS3Fg
i actually learned a few things this time, although they still need to go into more detail. Stop talking about stupid stuff like drinks etc.
-
Zip ties lol
-
i liked how they were just like "aw heck lets just hack the fenders off to make room for the mudders"
but then driving it to the desert and doing it there and makin it look like poop was beyond me.
i think it would have been better to just take them off
-
Ok, am I loosing my mind. this post looks messed up?
-
Captian i fixed the subject i spelled does wrong .
-
Not that. I was getting notifications and no posts were showing up.
-
i have to admit i like the Rotsun with the turbo'd 4.3 v-6. But i still think the show NEEDS to get into more detail and stop worrying about the entertainment aspect so much.

I know right i could have used them fenders!
-
They need to come out with another episode before February.
-
What do you think about dodge sponsoring road kill?
-
Great show. The muscle truck is totally cool. They also did some work on a 3/4 suburban "macho grande" and worked on a 1 ton crewcab ramp truck 77 gmc maybe?
-
Alright i can't take it anymore----Roadkill = trash. Last episode they swapped a hemi into a duster (or something like that). Did they describe in any detail, and show in any detail how they did it? As usual no.
Again, i say ROADKILL = TRASH
i know that if you don't have anything nice to say you shouldn't say it, but i can't take it anymore.
i've learned more from this guy:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ma4LkZdEeIE
or this guy:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=McZtPv4IspA
i've learned more from them than all the big network shows combined.
The fluff entertainment is useless. What can you learn from it?
Another one is Stacey David who is a nice guy...........but please what have i learned from his show------very little.......
-
Roadkill isn't about learning. Its about two guys with too much free time having some fun.
-
It's still better than what fast and loud has become. Myself and all my buddies much prefer the early episodes in the old shop over the new ones
-
I don't take Roadkill too seriously. Or most cable shows for that matter. They're built for entertainment. I like the personalities of the Roadkill guys. They've done some fun stuff- some pretty ridiculous stuff- but not much I'd want to do myself.
-
Roadkill is great! Its pure entertainment, at that is what I love about it. I don't watch it to learn anything. Anyone who thinks that's what its for needs to lighten up.

You wouldn't take their stepside with a ls into the desert to have mindless fun? Or rally a charger with a 440?

You make a good point ;). I would do either and both. To say it better, I wouldn't build them that way myself, but I'd rag those toys out in a heartbeat.

None of em come close to the now dead British version of Top Gear
Hopefully soon to be back in production maybe on Netflix

This show was the bomb, one of my all time favorites. It was actually the original Top Gear, the American version was a newer copy.

i understand it's an entertainment show (unfortunately), but would it kill them to go into a little detail? i mean the show is on the net w/no commercials, so they could make it longer than 30mins with no harm? Would anyone object to this? Would it take away from the entertainment aspect of the show? Those two could remain goofy while still actually DESCRIBING what the heck they are doing.
Maybe they need to get like Mythbusters where you have the two main characters, but then you have other "mythbusterettes" who branch off into their own experiments. And of course, on Mythbusters, they ACTUALLY EXPLAIN WHAT THEY ARE DOING IN DETAIL-----yet the show is still entertaining.
-
Go watch hot rod garage then. That's their other show that goes into detail.

You call hot rod garage detail?
i want you to watch "This Old House" on PBS or even "Hometime." You can still get into detail, be entertaining AND do it all in a 1/2 hour.
Every car show sucks. Congrats to any you tube poster who goes into detail.
-
P.S.
Most car people get off on discussing the technical aspects of mechanical concepts so really, if anything, i think talking about the nitty-gritty details would actually help the show.
-
I guess there isn't any convincing you otherwise. I should have known that someone who writes 10+ paragraph long posts would be less then enthusiastic about a show that is meant purely for entertainment and goes into no detail. I don't think Hot Rod Garage goes into much detail either, but it does more so then Roadkill.

mythbusters drives me crazy the way they start a project. Then after two minutes jump to showing another project then back to the first one
Plus it would make a great 30 minute show. Too much blah blah yip yap

If you actually listen to what they say and talk about you'd be surprised at what you can pick up from those guys. I've learned a few things because of that show.

i can't recall anything i've learned from that show. i mean, why sell out? i mean even 3-2-1 contact (remember that show was entertaining yet they (edited) explained things. In fact that's actually where i first learned about how engines worked---remember the episode with the female motorcycle racer?
i like David Freiburger and Finnegan but they are not living up to their potential i'm sorry to say.....
