Title: New Tires
Post by: Rebel766 on May 06, 2014, 08:33:44 am
That time of year again, gotta get some new tires. I have a '82 Chevrolet K10 and I'm running 31/10.50/15s I do believe (stock rally wheels etc). I'm wanting to run 33/10.50/15s and I'm wondering if it's possible without having to get a lift kit. Any information will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Rebel766

Generally 33x10.50 on a stock rally wheel will fit with minimum rubbing and no lift if everything is in good condition.  Sagging fatigued springs would make it less.  In general 33's need from 0-2" of lift.  Any wider than 10.50 on a stock wheel with stock backspacing and it starts rubbing the fenders...

My K5 is on 33x10.50's.

My 74 with 33x12.5x15 on a stock k10 frame will rub if going into say like a parking lot with a dip at a angle.  The truck leans into the dip and rubs, that is the only time it rubs though.

I was going to get a 3 inch body lift if they rubbed but if a 2 inch would work id figure it might look a little better to. Thanks for the input y'all.

The thing to ask your self is how much do you haul in the bed body lifts will destroy your bed if you haul alot because the cross bars of the bed are not supported by the frame any longer
