ok i have a problem....i can buy a BB 402(396) for 1000! 2geather just rebuilt with 375hp or i can buy a creat motor from GM a 260hp SB but has a warrenty which do u think i should get!??
-
Big block!!!!!
Forget crate motors. They stink
-
375 vs 260 hp big block always
-
402....................
i dont care too much for those, but definately over the mouse motor............go for it. Toys are my game
-
either way u look at it more cubic inches the more torque..... torque=fun... so i say defenatly the big block... unless u are stressed for gas economy
-
i like something i can tear up and take it back to get a new one.
-
Get the new 572 big block!!!
-
You could always take a smallblock 400 , bore it .30 and stroke it.
Vroom Vroom.
-
I have a 400SB, what could I expect to pay to have it bored .30 over and how much for a stroker kit?

Any dirt-track racers in your neighborhood? They can point you toward the best machine shops and answer your questions regarding cost.
Ask them, since building up a 400 is very popular.
I've been out of the loop too long, and never built a motor for pump-gas anyway. I never spent under 5K on a motor, but mine were built for extreme performance.
