First thing is first... I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT ELECTRONICS! Haha.
Anyways, I was looking around and people say that you can run a sound system from your iPod or Smart phone without a head unit, but you have to have a Line Driver. Is this true? What does a line driver do? I'm asking because my truck didn't come with a Radio, and I don't want to spend the money on a Head Unit. Especially for how expensive it is for a good "Retro Style" one.
So i guess the wiring diagram would be
Smart Phone/iPod -> Line Driver -> Amp -> Speakers/Subs
(Again, I don't know anything about electronics. so please lead me in the right direction. Thanks!)

And I also don't want to hack up my dash!

I have a similar set up in my garage using an audio tube that I had on my atv before I sold it. I ran two 6.5 inch infinity speakers with a 200 watt motorcycle amp. You need the speakers , amp, RCA jacks to 3.5 mm jack, and a 12volt power supply with wired ends. You hook up the pos and neg wires to amp and get the power from your cig lighter. The RCA jacks go in the amp and the 3.5mm jack in your headphone jack on your device. Then just wire your speakers to the amp. All of these items I found at my local radio shack. Hope this helps.

I would factor in all the cost of getting the stuff to make it work vs the radio we offer, it has USB, headphone, RCA jack connectors and Blue tooth. for 329.95
