First, Welcome to the site!

Second, we're not clairvoyant.  If you want help you have to tell us what you're working on.  And, then actually pose a question or problem with which you want the help.

X2 on above.  I guess you have a 86 C10 by your signature.  And let me play, you want to take your axle and turn it into what is in the link and you want us to help you ?  Or asking if this axle will work in your truck ?

Can we assume you don't have the OEM rear end to measure?
Do you still have the springs mounted on the frame? If so you can measure them C to C (center to center) That should be the same as your spring perch C to C. Once you have that, the distance between backing plates doesn't have to be the same as stock. (Within an inch or so) This could be a good time to figure out what wheel and tire combo you want and build the rear end to match.

No I don't have the OEM rear. but i got something better than my shortbed .....I've picked up a 86 GMC Sierra longbed. I recently put a TH400 in it but i need to get a longer driveshaft. I'm gonna run 15x12 in the back and 15x6 in the front. but now some of my friends say i should lower it. witch direction should i go now?

So just to clarify, you are looking for the width of the overall axle and spring perch location center to center correct ?
Just a question, did you pick up the 86 without a rear axle ?  Otherwise it should have the stock axle in it.
     More information please.

OK, so now I understand.  I do not know if you knew about the GM Heritage website that we have a link for in our tech section, but here is the address.   http://www.gmheritagecenter.com/gm-heritage-archive/vehicle-information-kits.html
Unfortunately I did not see the actual measurements you are looking for, but they have about everything else.  I am going to pm somebody on here that has a 85 and ask him to look at this thread, maybe he can measure his for you or just know what his is .

I have a stock 10 bolt 2 wheel drive rear end from a 1986C10 I will measure for you.  It won't be until Saturday sometime.  I travel for my job now and am only home on the weekends
