Post by: 84 silverado on October 21, 2002, 06:57:00 pm: you guys really don't "need" a twelve bolt unless it's just personal preference. The 8.5" 10 bolt that GM built from about 1980 or so and up is just as strong as a twelve bolt is any day. Not only that, it's easier to get parts for and cheaper too. The real step-up is a dana 60 or a 9 inch ford if you can afford it!!!
