I've owned my truck for 7000 miles now. It's my everyday driver and is always consistent. Until the other night I was driving home from dinner. I got off the highway came to a stop sign and started to accelerate again. The truck suddenly lost power and started to shake violently, then the engine developed a knock. I immediately pulled over, grabbed my flashlight and started to look. Nothing visible anywhere under the hood that I could see wrong so I shut the truck off. I pulled the dip stick and the oil was fine. Dumb founded I stood around for a few minutes. Before calling someone to come bail me out I started the truck, it had a faint knock for a few seconds then it disappeared completely and the truck was running fine. Jumped in drove home no problems. Drove it to work all week with no issue. Does someone have any idea whY this happened?
I'm knew to the forum and all answers and advice is appreciated. Thank you.

Could have been a chunk of carbon build up that broke loose, got stuck in a valve momentarily and then got exhausted. I have had it happen to me once soon after a manual de-carbon with trans fluid through the carb.

Very possible. Thanks for the reply, anymore are welcome.

Could also been something in the gas, detonation caused by low or high octane (water in fuel will sometimes do this, just like putting diesel in a gas engine), also check your fuel filter and make sure it is clean.

I've changed the fuel filter before on the truck. I got plugs and wires and another fuel filter I'm going to replace. Thanks again for the replying.

So is it fixed?
