I'm re-doing the interior, and re-colored the door panels. The lower carpet-covered panels need some help. Can they be re-colored with SEM too? I read an article saying it could be done. Here's a pic.

AND- the panel shown got damaged by a screw during shipping. What's the best way for me to repair the scratch? It's not too deep, but still needs some filler. Here's a close-up.

Are you talking about dyeing the carpet with SEM ? I think I have seen something also about doing that.
As far as the scratch goes, go and get you some plastic epoxy, fill, sand, dye. Will never know it was there.

I have dyed carpet before, it works out well and cost a lot less. Just know if you are using a spray dye, a lot of light coats are your friend. If you go to heavy with "wet" coats the carpet fiber can end up sticking together and can lose the "carpet feel", but if done right, you really can not tell the difference.

There's a Duplicolor video on youtube that shows them spraying carpet with their interior paint.

This is what I used on the repair-

I started sanding it down with a drill motor and sanding disc, but it didn't take long for me to see that it was actually too aggressive, so I finished with hand sanding. It was just a small job anyway.
