Look for the engine ID number.  That will tell which crate engine it is, and then you can look up the pistons.

The engine ID number will be on the front of the deck on the passenger side, right in front of the head.  That is probably under the alternator, but it's not that hard to get to.

This is the only # in the alt area. I looked it up and got nothing.

See the second answer to this post:
http://www.chevytalk.org/fusionbb/showtopic.php?tid/296901/

So it is 1=GM, M=Mexico, 11194= November 19, '4 (1994 or 2004), and VP = 350/260hp crate engine, #10067353.

That's the base crate engine, see description here.  Definitely dished pistons.

i wish i could ID my 350 unfortunately when decking is done on the block that number by the alternator tends to get shaved off. :-(.....so i dont know what it has but i guess it doesnt matter since the motor was rebuilt for the PO.

That is part of the reason I wanted to know. To see what parts I have and what I can upgrade.

In a stock GM crate, 12-211-2 dyno-simulates at 306 hp at 4500 rpm and 395 lbft at 2500, with 260 lbft coming off idle at 1000 rpm, and the torque curve starting to drop off at 4000 rpm.  Nice fit for the CK.
