Title: Can't find the answer anywhere
Post by: Breadfather on June 19, 2014, 10:27:57 pm
I was able to acquire some Goodyear wrangler MTRs still with the nubs on them for $600 the are mounted on some stock H3 wheels.  I had originally planned to get some black wheels and mount the tires on them but after seeing the H3 wheels in person I think they would look good on my truck (painted black). My question is will they fit a 77 k10?  I am fairly positive the bolt pattern will work I just don't know about the offset.  I am in the middle of moving and all my tools are packed up 1000 miles away so I can't just try them to see. I don't want to take them to the tire shop unless I know they will fit.

I have tried searching on here but all I come up with are tH350 posts.  Thanks.

I am just worried about the inside of the wheel rubbing on the a arms or something, or the wheels and tires being too far inside the outside of the fenders?  I don't want it to look like the axles are too narrow.

The other issue is you have a "K" so the four wheel drive lock outs have to come out the center cap, which the H3 does not have. So you are either going to have to cut a hole in the cap or run the fronts without the cap at all, which would also show your nuts  :o ...lug nuts of course....lol

Cutting a hole in the caps wouldn't really bother me as I have tools to get it done and have it look good(I think)... I am moving on Monday and don't want to bring an extra set of wheels and tires with me if I don't have to....I guess I'm just going to have to put them on and see what happens at the tire shop....I'll let you all know.

Nope don't fit.  Inside of wheel hits tie rod.  Now I have to fix the 3 broken wheel studs before I head to the tire shop for some new wheels. Fun stuff.

So as I stated earlier I needed to have 3 wheel studs replaced before I could get my new wheels on. All my tools are packed up and $1000 miles away...so I took it to the Brakes Plus across the street from Discount Tire....3.5hrs and a closed tire shop later I'm still watching these idiots trying to figure out how to get the hub back together.....unbelievable. That is why I do these things my self.

So they finally got it back together.  They had Discount bring the wheels over and they put them on...looks awesome.  They backed it out of the shop and as I drive away there is some bad metal on metal sounds coming from the front.  Wheels are rubbing on the tie rod. So I drove it across the street parked it in front of discount tire for the night.  They have some tires locally that will work.  level 8 "Tracker" wheels.  Anyone have these?  Hopefully they will work.  Pic coming later....maybe.

What should have been a 3 hour ordeal...now a 2 day adventure.
