Hello everyone,
Been on the site a while, thought I would try a post. This is my 82 Scottsdale Suburban I have had since 2005. She has 258K on the clock, and still runs great. This past weekend we just finished an 1100 mile trip to L.A. and back, with a car in tow for the last 550 miles. She didn't miss a beat! Drove over the famous 'grapevine' twice only to find out a plug wire had fallen off the number 2 cylinder! Needless to say im pretty proud of my rig! For an 'old rusty truck', I sure get a ton of compliments everywhere I go in it. After dozens of long road trips all over, and remote camping trips I have been thinking about doing some upgrades. I think I will start by washing it, since its been a few years. I have wanted to put a flowmaster on it since I bought it too. Feel free to throw me any suggestions.
Ready to go another 250K!

Thanks to all!
This is an old retired US forestry truck, hence the funky slime green. The guy I bought it from was a retired forest ranger and used this truck back when it was new, so he knew most of it's history. It's been quite an honor to drive this old beast, I am an old Chevy guy to the core! When I found this rig it was so cheap I wanted to pick it up just for the drivetrain, but it quickly became my daily driver when I saw no rust, and no reason to take it off the road.
Anyway thanks for having me. I love checking out all the other old burbs!

Still rockin the stock 350 and 700R4. Pulled it all out in 2010 to freshen the motor up with new pistons, 'RV cam' and the works, had the tyranny done by a buddy that did a great job. Heck it does just about anything I put it to, love it! Built an entire new vacuum harness using all new parts - as this was a huge problem living in CA. Smog stuff was all rotten. Good to go now days tho. So pic of motor is pretty boring.

More recent pic of the motor, post rebuild.
