hey yall im new to the forum. im 16 and just tackled my first engine swap. i have a 79 k10 with a 350 sm465 and np205 my old motor locked up so i pulled it, got a new used on put a new clutch pilot bearing and throwout bearing in and put it in. i havent got everything on the motor yet so its not running yet but i was checking the clutch and when i pressed the clutch it didnt disengage so i played with the fork and linkage and got it to disengage well sorta i can roll it but its harder than it should be way harder and there is a clicking in the bell housing when its rolling with clutch disengaged. im stuck and have no one that can help me. i have no clue what it is everytime i search for something they all have hydraulic clutches i dont. push the clutch and a linkage pushes the fork.can anyone help me? it seems like a throwout bearing but its brand new..maybe messed up fork? any help will be appreciated

Make sure the clutch fork is correctly inserted into the T/O bearing collar and properly "clipped" onto the pivot ball. Check that the pivot ball is tight and secure in the bellhousing.

I don't know if I did that right sorry I'm new on here. An I checked that and the little things on the back of the fork that clip on to the pivot ball don't lignin up with the indention for the ball on the fork. Like the fork is slipped all the way on that ball but the indention on the fork for some reason isn't ligned up with the pivot ball if that makes sense. It's almost like that sprig thing moved on the back of th fork

Welcome to the site!
The spring retainer is riveted to the fork - it can't move. But, it can bend or break. The pivot ball and the fork can also wear out. Did you verify proper fork engagement with the throwout bearing? Did you compare the new throwout bearing with the old one before you installed it? Perhaps you should post some pics.

Also if you didn't clean the rust preventative off the pressure plate it glues them in place. I had that happen to me when I put a clutch kit in a Mustang for a friend of mine.

Throw out bearings were the same excep the old on was bent on the lip. The fork may be worn I moved it around an room different pics. You can see when the pivot ball longs up with the indention the pivot ball isn't in the correct spot on the retainer clip I just don't know I do not wanna drop this tranny I just wanna drive my truck!! And the nut isn't tightened up cause I'm constantly adjusting it to where the fork moves
