Title: Fuel pump pushrod help
Post by: black85k10 on July 08, 2014, 09:23:26 am
I got a motor off a friend this weekend that he was going to use a electric fuel pump on. I am going with a mechanical fuel pump. I do not know what cam is in it but it is a roller cam. I need to get a fuel pump push rod. Should I get the COMP Cams 4609 roller tip push rod or just a bronze tipped push rod? I called him and asked but he did not know said he would look for spec sheets. He did tell me I needed a bronze dis. gear if that helps.

Its a 350

thanks

If it is a roller block you might want to check and make sure that it has a provision for a mechanical fuel pump.

IF the pushrod hole is there, then either pushrod will work. I believe there are some composite ones that are also compatible with the roller cams.

thanks farmboy. I am also  kicking around the idea of just a electric fuel pump to be on the safe side.

Talked to Bryan at comp cams and he said that the roller tip one is 5.776 long. Jegs says its 5.75 long so I guess I will try a bronze one. Bryan did say bronze  would work. And yes the hole is there for the push rod.

thanks for the help
