I just installed a new distributor with new rotor and cap, new coil, and new wires I got the truck running good except a backfire in the exhaust on #6 cylinder. It only does it at idle I also put a new plug in #6 it didn't help any. Anybody got any ideas?

Swap the wire with the wire on another cylinder, and see if the problem moves. Another option is to clip the timing light on that wire and see if it triggers.
-
Did both of those same problem on the same cylinder also it is firing.
-
Re-check the firing order of the wires on the distributor.
Re-torque the header/manifold bolts on the passenger side.

I did those things still had the problem but I got it solved. I had ordered a Accel HEI corrected cap apparently something wasn't right with it because I put a regular HEI cap on it and it runs beautifully now with tons of power. Thanks for the help though.

No problem. Glad you got it sorted.
