Title: 79 cab just set up for heat
Post by: sameold on July 27, 2014, 06:57:28 am
On my 79' K30 scottsdale cab it's just set up for heat.

reading the above tread it seems like Firefighter cut a new hole and flipped the heater core 180 so the tubes are more towards the driverside.

The 85 cab I have now has provisions for heat and A/C.

I forgot to take pic and I will post them later

I am asking if all firefighter did was flip his heater core 180 and make a cover plate for it?
85 top, 79 bottom

I can not tell you if firefighter did that or Chevy did that in the different years.  Have you PM'd firefighter to ask him this question yet ?

Completely different heater box, outer fan box, heater core. Need to make a pattern from the AC cab, weld in sheet metal to match, then cut out what is left.

Firefighter removed AC from his truck and went to only head on it.
Those are the steps to make it work and you have to source a Heat only setup and get rid of the AC housing inside and out...
