Title: Cruise control wiring on an LS Swap?
Post by: 84Silverado4x4 on July 28, 2014, 10:43:56 pm
I'm wondering If anyone could help me locate the wires needed to hook up cruise control on my 84 silverado.  I'm pretty sure I have the harness for my factory cruise located but I'm not sure what wires serve what function or if I am able to test their function without the truck running and driving.  I will be connecting the wires to the pcm on my drive by wire 5.3 swap.

Are you asking where to find the cruise control circuit ?
I can tell you to find it in the wiring diagrams in the tech section, on the 81-87 instrument pg1, top of page in the middle.  It list 1 - 6, 4 being cruise control.
It appears to be on the back of the instrument cluster.
But you are going to have to wait till someone can tell you where to find the wire you are looking for and what to tie into like you asked.

I think I have the wire harness in the engine bay found for the cruise however I need to identify the wires so that I can hook them up to my 5.3 ls pcm and get it to function with my factory cruise switch.

The wires would come out of the stalk,  Technically you should be able to see all of these as it is just a single "wire" coming down the column.
