Title: K20 rim questions
Post by: Elpresidente on August 17, 2014, 09:41:30 am
Did GM ever make a 15" 8 lug rim? If not, what's the tallest tire I could fit on a factory 16x6.5" steel rim? The best I could find is 255/85R16. This is going on my bush truck and I would really like to keep the steel rims but still go as big as I can on that. My point about the 15" rims was if I could find a set, I would just get some BFG 35's and call it a day. Also, wheel spacers...are they safe to use on a 4x4? I keep imagining they would cause some problems. Reason I ask is because I do have a set of aftermarket 15" aluminum rims, but the offset would definitely require that I use spacers to fit them on the truck. This is a last resort though.

GM never made a 15" 8 lug rim that I am aware of.  In my stock car days we had them on our Sportsman cars running truck rear ends.  The offsets have to be right not to rub on the calipers.  I've seen pretty tall tires on 6.5" wide rims for 16"
