Title: Hello from Texas
Post by: Afterlife72 on September 03, 2014, 08:15:54 pm
I have been lurking these forums for three weeks! First I would like to thank all of the members on this board. I had a 86 SWB silverado that I bought in 2006 kept for a year but due to finances had to sell the "toy" as my wife called it. I sold it to a guy that immediately had the motor replace with a 350, dropped the truck and put a steel cowl hood on it. Well he got drunk one day and was trying to jump off another car and crossed the wires and fried something underhood 5 years ago. Fast forward to a month ago he called me and asked if I would consider buying back for cheap! I of course said yes and paid him $950 and had it hauled to my house on August 15th and had been tinkering with the help of you guys! Well after reading posts on here I replaced battery, both +- cables and I ran across a post about a fusible link on here and ending up replacing the one on the firewall. Well a $2.99 part was the culprit!!!! I now have a truck with a 350 that has less than 5,000 miles. I by means am a mechanic but you guys have gave me the confidence to try my hand at restoring this truck little by little! Again thank you!

Ok , here is what I have to start with! I just need to find some bigger rims since these 15 in rims make it sit really low.

The flat tires are not helping any either.  LOL

Yeah they are old and are not holding air very well. I have to get new tires so will get some bigger wheels.
