Title: Gas tank mounting
Post by: ackland3 on September 11, 2014, 11:56:50 am
My 1985 k10 with the long box currently has one 16 gallon tank and the passenger side has had a hole drilled into it so I want to upgrade to the 20 gallon. Can i do this without moving mounts at all? Would like to know before ordering the parts

Are you asking if you can remove the 16 gallon and replace it with a 20 on the passenger side ?  Did someone drill a hole into the 16 gallon tank ?

Yes they drilled a hole about an inch inch and a half big in the passenger side and a 20 gallon is about the same price as the 16 so i figured may as well upgrade

I believe the mounting hardware is all the same, someone will chime in if I am wrong.

Best make sure you have room to install a 20 gal. tank!  I think the limiting factor is clearance to your front spring hanger on the rear leaf springs.
