so the truck im going to get monday has been sitting for 10+ years i want to bypass the tank and hook a fuel tank right up to the tbi via the inlet. but what size is the fitting on the inlet? i could just cut the fuel line and spice it in but i might use this motor later and dont want to ruin it now just to replace it later

3/8 fuel line will slip right over the metal line. For the purpose of "jerry rigging it" you could disconnect the fuel line on the outlet side of the filter, slide the flare nut out of the way, force the 3/8 rubber over the flared metal line have a separate electric pump to your 5 gallon gas can and by pass the regular tank that way ,just make sure the main pump in the truck tank is disabled. That's how I've done it in the past.

Disconnect the 16mm inlet and 14mm outlet and run a pump with some EFI rated hose on a barb to it...
