Title: Looking for a good battery disconnect example
Post by: Ben_Greenberg on September 14, 2014, 08:31:21 pm
Hey everybody,
I've got. 78 c15 heavy half, I am in the middle of tracking down a battery parasitic draw issue, but I've also noticed in some other threads that people have battery disconnect switches in the cab somewhere. Anybody have a good write up or pictures of how they wired theirs up? I'd love to see it! Thanks guys!

I have seen some with a key to them, I always planned on putting one of these on my truck when I get to that point.
My parts truck right now just has the switch style under the hood.  The previous owner had a battery drain issue and instead of solving it he just added the switch, since then I have fixed the short and only turn off the switch if I take my truck somewhere that I don't trust the neighborhood.

I like the automatic ones

Can't remember the name.  But it's about $100 and shuts off if voltage drops below 11v

Has a remote inside the cab.  Tap it and it turns back on

I will see if I can find the brand name later today
