Hello, My name is Matt and I am from northern Illinois. I am very happy to have joined this site. I have been a guest for many years and have finally decided to join because I am having trouble finding some parts for my truck and figured this would be the site to hopefully get some answers or at least pointed in the right direction.
I currently own five trucks all GM of coarse. One half ton that I bought In high school and restored and four one tons form 1977 (the first year) to 1980. The '80 is mostly restored and the other three are awaiting there turn.
I am looking for the trim that came factory on the Chevy Scottsdale and GMC Sierra Grande, commonly referred to as spear molding. It is two inches wide and has textured rubber with a chrome rib on top and bottom. This stuff is usually damaged or missing and everybody tends to get rid of it because they hate it. I have two trucks that came with it and need some more for a eight foot bed. I have two rolls of NOS molding that I found on Ebay and three NOS front spears. Tough to find but would be grateful for any help. Thanks, and I will try to get some pictures of these up as soon as I figure it out.

Hi zieg85 thanks for the reply. Nice truck you have there in your avatar. Was there a place you could take your truck that would fab that extra cab onto yours? Very unique and rare.

Back in the day there was a company called CVI in Arlington, TX that did a factory authorized conversion to brand new trucks.

Hello Jason S I really like your early GM's and there color. I prefer the stock appearance as well. All but one of my trucks have stock wheels and hub caps with the 8.25x16.5 wheels. I wish they had come factory with them but did not. If I ever get pictures up you will see them. Great work on the propane conversion as well very nice to have both fuels at your fingertips. Very nice trucks.

zieg85, Thanks for the info on the conversion, I thought that place was in Texas before I e-mailed you but wasn't sure. I will have to check it out.

Welcome from AZ but formerly Illinois, where about 's you near?
-
I am near Belvidere in a small town called Garden Prairie. Thanks for the welcome.
-
Yep I know where that is. My step-son Troy used to have a truck called Bad Bow-Tie that he showed and was in all the magazines. He out of that now but has an original General Lee and was in Belvidere for a Mopar show a month ago. Please upload pictures when you can.

I see they have that Mopar show at the fairgrounds every year, just not a Dodge guy. I have uploaded a few of my trucks under the Members rides category under "Three Of My Trucks". Check it out when you get time.
