Title: Bench Seat Spring Differences
Post by: naisugai on September 25, 2014, 12:28:57 am
So I am getting ready to replace the seat cover on my bench seat and took a peek under the seat cover to see what kind of condition the seat springs are in and noticed that the springs are completely straight, when checking images online I have only seen the curved type springs.  Bench seat is for an 86 C10 with the seat belt inserts built into the seat cover along with new foam that has the same thing.

What could I also use to strengthen or replace one of the springs.  Guitar wire maybe???

The older style did more with actual springs while the newer versions appeared to be a fine wire like piano string and used the newer foam technology.  I believe the change was with the 81 "newer light weight" trucks but I could be wrong.
