Hey guys...so...a while back on my crewcab I fixed the cracked frame at the steering gear, installed the bolt-in brace and installed a new PSC steering gear. At the same time I redid all of the brake and steering lines and put in a new hydroboost unit with a modern aluminum M/C.
When I did that I followed the recommended practice of bleeding the lines etc. It has been probably a couple years. I filled the whole system up with AC Delco Power Steering Fluid and I have not had to add a drop since and the reservoir is not aerated or anything with bubbles.
My issue is that it seems after driving it for some time, like from work to home. When I stop and reverse down my driveway, turning the steering wheel it makes loud groaning noises! It works just fine, but is much louder than I think it should be! It isn't always that loud either.
Do any of you have experience with this? Can you point me to something that might be wrong?
Thanks,

Sit at a stop, one foot on brake, on on gas and add a little gas just to be at about 1000 to 1200 rpm, if you turn the wheel back and forth, does it make the same or similar noise? It may be your power steering pump is becoming worn out or failing.

Make sure the P/S reservoir is full and check the fluid for aeration.

"installed a new PSC steering gear"
"I followed the recommended practice of bleeding the lines etc."
"I filled the whole system up with AC Delco Power Steering Fluid and I have not had to add a drop since and the reservoir is not aerated or anything with bubbles."
I could look at the PS pump. It is the one item that is original in the system.

Yea I would start with the pump.
