An 86 K-30 came up for sale near me , Single rear Scottsdale, 454 ,turbo 400 , np205 Parts or whole . Its very rusty .

My brother bought the very same truck a few years ago. A 1986 Chevy Scottsdale SRW 454, 400, 205. It had rust issues as well, bed was real bad. He paid $3000.00 for it. Worth it but still needed a few things. I would try to get it for $3500 to 3000 or cheaper if it works out for you. They are great trucks with one of the toughest drivetrains you could get. I have four but they are the early ones (77-80) no factory big blocks except for my '78 it came with it when I bought it. Make sure it has clean title. Good Luck!

Rust is a problem. Frame could be rusted too bad. Axles could also be damaged. But the beginning of this year I paid 4k for a 84 k30 with a Cummins and blown up 700r4 body is rusted. The way I saw it the motor was worth 2.5 the axles and frame are worth 1.5 so anything else is just extra.
Never priced a 454 so I don't know its value I would think 1-1.5k that trans might have a value of .5.

Well the asking price is $1250 but if you have ever seen a NY plow truck , you wouldn't think that was such a bargain . I don't know maybe I'll go back and look at it again.

I've bought a few here in Mass with the same drivetrain. The price seems to be dead on, I've usually paid between $1000-$1500. Those SRW Dana 60's can bring $1000 alone. Irish is right about the rust damage on frames, not to mention the problems that plowing can cause.
Do you want it for a project or as a parts truck?

Value of these trucks varies greatly based on quite a few factors. What it's worth depends largely on what you want it for. Are you planning to use it for parts, do you want to turn it into a daily driver, fun off-road truck, work truck? Where I'm at a 454/TH400 combo not rebuilt can be had for $500-600. Rust is rare in my area so a truck like that would probably go for 1200-2000. Geography affects it alot.

ny plow truck forget about the axles and frame. a truck from ny is bad enough those axles will prob be rusted out under the cups for the u bolts. if i was to price that truck i would just bee looking at the motor trans and tcase. and 86 should have the round long input 205 that can be 400 easy. so put that with the motor and trans i can see 1-1.5k BUT thats all thats prob good on that truck. if you get it and the axles turn out ok then good but if not nothing would be lost.
