I want to put a Tremec 5 speed in my 84 C10. My question is about the clutch pedal assembly. I have seen them listed on ebay with vacuum brakes. I'm not sure if this will work in my truck. Are there clutch pedal assemblies with hydraulic brakes? I've only seen the vacuum brake assemblies. And don't have a clue as to whether this will work in my truck. This is my first post. Cheers, Thomas

I think they are referring to vacuum power brakes as opposed to hydroboost.
-
Ok. So, what's the differences here? Can I use the vacuum power?

Honestly I don't know what a transmission choice has to do with what type of braking system you have because a manual transmission isn't anywhere near any of the brake components on our trucks. I would call the vendor to clarify.

When I go from auto to manual I will need a clutch/brake pedal assembly to replace the brake only pedal assembly. I am unclear about whether the vacuum boost assemblies will work with the brakes in my truck. I believe my truck is hydroboost. Can anyone clarify this for me. Maybe it doesn't matter if the assembly is vacuum or hydroboost. I don't know the differences between vacuum and hydro.

Hydroboost came in diesels or 1 ton pickups. Post a picture and we'll know for sure

Ah, ok...Thank you. Will post pic in the morning. But I am almost certain my truck is vacuum boost. I was getting confused on the terminology used here.
Kinda feel stupid now. But wanted to be sure before I bought something expensive that I couldn't use. Cheers.
