Hi gang.
Silly question but on a non A/C equipped 250 is the P/S pump really located right above the alternator?
I ask as I recently got this truck and the alternator died and after looking at it the PS leaked fluid into it and I also saw someone had some wood blocks between the engine block and alt propping up the back of the alt and got me thinking maybe a PO had put them on the wrong way. Plus it makes no sense to have a liquid filled object mounted right above the alternator.

Bueller?
I did try and google pics but did not find any. Can someone please confirm the PS is mounted above the alternator on a non-A/C 250?

From what I remember it is above.

Just took a look at mine (78) and it's right above the alt

Figure 3B3-15 at the upper left corner of page 231 (3B3-16) of the 1979 Service Manual (http://www.73-87chevytrucks.com/techinfo/7387CKMans//Service/ST_330_79_1979_Chevrolet_Light_Truck_Service_Manual.pdf) has an illustration of the p/s pump mounting.
