You know gas prices will be on the rise again. I personally would stay away from big blocks, unless you simply need the torque/ power. People in this forum are probably sick of me say so, but a 383 stroker will give you tons of torque and hp, built out of a 350 block. No need to change your springs, mounts, etc...383 stroker SgtDel

I have to agree. That is what I am doing right now. I am working on a 6.0L for use in my 73-87chevytrucks.com truck.
I just priced a 4.8L with only 9K miles on it locally for $500. It has everything with it: computer, harness and accessories. You can find the 4.8L really cheap. I have seen owners ditching them for as little as $350 (without accessories) I found a deal on my 6.0L for $800. Chris Lucas
